Senior Legal Counsel, Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC)
Anna Keller is senior legal counsel at the Canadian Commercial Corporation (CCC), a Crown corporation
that helps Canadian exporters sell products and services abroad. In this role, she is responsible for
international legal issues related to complex transactions and contracting. In 2019-2020 CCC signed
$1.25 billion in export contracts on behalf of 157 Canadian companies.
Prior to joining the legal team at the Canadian Commercial Corporation, Ms. Keller was corporate legal counsel at Shopify, where she was responsible for subsidiary management and corporate governance, as well as international legal issues related to global expansion, tax matters and compliance. Ms. Keller was previously a lawyer at an international law firm, where her practice focused on corporate and securities law, corporate governance, shareholder disputes, private equity and venture capital financings and mergers and acquisitions.
Ms. Keller is the youngest female independent director on the University of Ottawa Board of Governors. Additionally, she serves as a director for various volunteer organizations, including as vice-chair of the board and chair of the governance committee. She is a member of Women Get on Board, an organization dedicated to connecting and promoting women as directors.
A recipient of Ottawa’s Forty under 40 award, she is also a sessional lecturer at Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business where she teaches corporate law. Called upon frequently as a speaker and thought leader, Ms. Keller regularly presents at industry events and professional development programs.
Prior to becoming a lawyer, Ms. Keller was an award-winning journalist and wrote for numerous publications, including the Toronto Star.
